Close to His Heart

"[Let] the little children come unto me, and forbid them not;    for of such is the kingdom of God... "Happy Derthday, Mama!" And he took them up in his arms... and blessed them." Mark 10:14-16    "Lord, may I never forget that You love my children even more than I do.  May I never fail to show them Your love;  and may I never cease to draw on Your strength to do so." ~LK

Toddlers in the Kitchen

Image
Yesterday a rare thing happened. BOTH my older girls were at a friend's house, and I had just Natalie with me, who is two. Visions of cleaning out our homeschooling room or my overflowing inbox were put on hold when I realized how rarely I get to spend one on one time with her.  I scrapped those plans and decided to have a Nattie Date. We were having company last night, so what better way for two women to bond than in the kitchen preparing delicious food? My girls have always helped in the kitchen and loved it, from toddler age up, and I think it's a great way to     ~ instill in them a love for cooking and helping,               ~ spend quality time together, and                      ~ keep them from messing up other parts of the house while you're busy! We made black bottoms , currently my f...

The Art of Femininity

Image
Since we've had a little extra time this school break, we've decided it's time to teach Nattie the ways of a woman. They're never too young to start! Here's what we've been working on this past month: 1. Make sure your skin is protected at all times.   2. It will seem like there is less laundry to fold  if you put on more clothes while folding. 3. However, there really will be less laundry if you simply don't wear anything. 4. Costco is a girl's best friend. 5. Men like it when you share with them.  Especially if it's water, and you get it right in their eyes. 6. You can't put a price tag on fun!!

Confessions of a Fashion No-How

Image
~ First confession: Last Sunday - which happened to be Baby Dedication Day and happened to be when we dedicated our little Nattie to the Lord - we inadvertently locked her in the church building.  After church, she followed Tom into the office building and went into one of the side rooms to look for leftover soda in the recycling bin (eww!). Not knowing she was in there, he turned out all the lights and locked up. About a minute later I was frantically looking around for her outside when I heard the door rattle and Nattie begin to wail. I quickly opened the door, and there she stood, empty Dr. Pepper can in hand. Talk about guilt!! Lol but it will make for a great story when she's older.    Before. After.   *We didn't really take her pic after leaving her at church, that would be cruel.  This was from the other day at breakfast but is a pretty accurate rendition. She has this crying thing down to a science. ~ I. Got. My. First. Pedicure. LOVED it!! On...

That's My Nattie

Image
Time seems to be just flying by - I can't believe my youngest turned 2 this past week! Here she is, in all of her glory: Though fiercely independent,   She's totally a clown. Naturally mischievous, with smiles all around. She's a techno-whiz  Who loves music too, Keep your distance while she's eating,  if you know what's good for you.  And though sometimes  her cuteness drives me batty, I wouldn't trade the world  for my precious little Nattie! Happy birthday, Natalie! We love you!

New Dishwasher Review

My conclusion: Cute, compact model, but noisy and inefficient. As a dishwasher, I hope I can get my money back.  As a daughter, she's a keeper :)

When there seems no way out, look up. Psalm 121:1-2  I will life up mine eyes unto the hills,  from whence cometh my help.   My help cometh from the Lord,  which made heaven and earth.

Oh Baby!

They say a picture is worth 1,000 words - and with Natalie, I'd say they're worth at least that!  She doesn't make my posts too often because she doesn't talk much yet, but as you can see from these pics, what she lacks in words she makes up for in character.  For my Wordless Wednesday, here is our littlest monkey:    (future blackmail)   Finally worn out!!

Will Work for Food

Image
When Hannah was little, we called her "Moose" because she ate so much.  I don't even know what to call #3 - she's an eating machine!  She'll eat her food, then finish Hannah's, then try to take food off of Linsey's plate, who sits beside her.  And if there's no food, she'll move on to napkins...Maybe "Trash Compactor" would be a good fit, but that could be embarrassing when she's older :) Here are a few of my favorites from this summer, a couple you may have seen on previous posts: Hope you have a great Wednesday, and remember, "A smile is worth a thousand messes!!"  At least, to me it is :) Linking up with these fun blog hops today:
