Living What They Learn

As parents, we know our kids will grow up to become just like us (more on that in this post), so I wanted to share a few values I'm trying to teach my three little mamas-in-training:


~Look for the good in unexpected places~



 ~Don't be afraid to try new things...~


~...but always ask permission first!~
Failed haircut attempt
 

~It's okay to cry~



 ~Family is forever. Be there for each other~


And, most importantly...


~Always, always, always be yourself!!~

    Adorable pictures...

    I find myself saying to my two-year-old "be nice to X" often... so maybe be nice to others!

    I think being honest and having integrity are the two big ones we try to teach our kids.

    Had to LOL at the failed haircut. Oh my!

    Beautiful photos of your loves.

    I agree with the values you teach.

    One of mine is that we will always be a family and that's why its worth it to try loving and forgiving and understanding and being a blessing to each other.

I have been tossing around the idea of doing a few giveaways and reviews for awhile, so when My Memories Suite emailed and asked me to host a giveaway for Amazon's #1 ranked digital scrapbooking software, I jumped at the chance! Letter of the Week - P

Last week we had the most fun with the letter "P" for Hannah's preschool (I love it when there are activities all 3 girls can enjoy!) We've gone through the alphabet with a letter by letter emphasis, just to give some structure to our days and streamline activities. "P" is for...Penguins  We learned facts about penguins and made these adorable crafts, found here . (The only change we made was to use construction paper, since we had no paper plates on hand.) My girls all love penguins and had fun trying to imitate their walk. The first time we saw penguins at the zoo, Hannah bravely remarked, "I'm not afraid of penguins, they waddle!" "P" is for... Painting Linsey's art is through the K12 curriculum, so I just have the younger girls to modified versions of whatever she is doing, which happened to be painting this week. Memorial Day Memo

It's Monday - that means I have thought all morning about 5 random tidbits of our lives you might find amusing.  Here goes: 1)  I have always had (minor) self-esteem issues, especially when it comes to my peers.  When I was in elementary school,  I was convinced that my parents paid some nice girls to be my friends.  Just when I was starting to pull out of this (around college), I broke up with a guy I had been seeing during my freshman year.  In disgust at having been dumped, the guy spat out, "Well, Dr. R. (our college V.P.) told me to ask you out anyway!"  Fast forward to the next year...said V.P. told me after class one day to come to his office and he would help me find someone suitable to date.  Even though I was his secretary, I managed to avoid his office for the next 3 weeks, during which I met Tom, my husband.  When we started talking, it took me a full month to work up the courage to ask him if Dr. R. had told him to date me.  When he reassured me (like 5
